‘Qom Day’ to be held for 3rd year: Mayor

The mayor of Qom has announced that “Qom Day” will be held in the very near future for the third year.

Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaeiannejad made the remarks on Sunday in a meeting with Ayatollah Saeedi, the representative of the Supreme Leader in Qom.

Five committees have been formed in order to develop various programs for the day, said Saghaeiannejad in the meeting.

He also elaborated on the municipality’s efforts to serve the Qom citizens, saying that in the last six years, more than three thousand large and small urban projects have been put into operation.

16 large civil, cultural, and service projects will also be inaugurated and operationalized by the end of this year, the mayor also stressed.

He referred to Namaz Square, Jomhouri Boulevard, multi-story car parks, high-speed bus route on Ayatollah Boroujerdi Boulevard, City Council building, Eram Street, the fifth phase of Ammar Yaser, Ghadir tunnel, and the first phase of Qom metro as some of the projects that will be implemented or completed by year-end.

4.500 billion rials are needed to operate the projects, the mayor noted, adding if the projects become operational, the city of Qom will be developed significantly.

Last year, the mayor of Qom, reiterated that “Qom Day” is a great opportunity to introduce the city in all aspects to the people.
