Qom’s Birds Garden to be reopened soon: Official

Qom Municipality Deputy for Urban Services announced the reopening of Qom Bird Garden after a few weeks of quarantine, later this year or early next year.

Seyyed Amir Same’ made the remarks at today’s public meeting of the Islamic City Council of Qom.

After easing lockdown restrictions, Qom Birds Garden to be reopened in accordance with health protocols, Same’ stated.

Meanwhile, he rejected as fake news some media claims on the extermination of three thousand birds in the Bird Garden.

He went on to say that about 600 birds were hygienically collected, exterminated, and buried, and the unit was completely disinfected.

The municipality official also noted that the complex enjoys the necessary permits from the environment and veterinary offices and health standards observed there while adding that a technical management team is present at the Birds Garden round the clock.

Qom Birds Garden is the second largest of its kind in Iran. This garden is also ranked third in the country in terms of species diversity.

The garden with an area of 70,000 square meters is located in Mofid Square and Shahid Avini Boulevard.

Construction of retaining walls, footpaths and pavements, entrance building and WCs, waterfall and pond, bird cages, and tropical cages are among the measures taken in this project.
