In order to have a healthy city and clean air in comprehensive traffic studies, eight sidewalk axes were defined, the director general of Traffic Engineering and Executive Affairs of Qom Municipality announced.
Seyyed Amir Abbas Safavi made the announcement while stressing the implementation of a human-centered policy over a car-centered one in city traffic management.
Referring to the significance of organizing traffic in controlling air pollution, he stated, “Fortunately, in the city of Qom, as a metropolis, we do not have the problems of air pollution that other cities are facing..”
He declared that measures will be taken to prevent air pollution caused by traffic, adding, “In comprehensive traffic studies, the issue of air pollution has been considered as an independent issue and we have predicted solutions for it before facing the crisis.”

In the comprehensive traffic studies, eight pedestrian routes have been defined, namely Zangarki, Buali, Golestane and Shahid Beheshti, in addition to the pedestrian routes around the shrine.
