Interior Minister visits Qom Birds Garden

Iran’s Interior Minister, accompanied by the Head of Municipalities and Rural Affairs Organization and other officials of the Ministry of Interior visited Birds Garden of Qom on Thursday.

During the visit, deputy of municipal services of Qom Municipality elaborated on the restrictions applied on the opening of the birds garden due to the spread of Coronavirus in the city.

In order to prevent the spread of diseases, we have tried to enclose the birds and keep them away from the visitors, Abbas Zakerian said.

Furthermore, the director general of the Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality referred to creating bird habitat and tropical plants greenhouse in this garden, stressing that this complex is isolated so as not to create problems for the environment and poultry.

Payam Javadian also touched upon the water recirculation system that is used in the birds garden in order to prevent water wastage, saying the garden is irrigated with intelligent systems.

Qom Birds Garden is the second largest of its kind in Iran. This garden is also ranked third in the country in terms of species diversity.

The garden with an area of 70,000 square meters is located in Mofid Square and Shahid Avini Boulevard.
