A municipal official says thirty critical flooded areas have recently been secured in the city of Qom.
Touching upon the planning made to eliminate the flooding of urban roads, the district manager of Qom Municipality stated that 30 critical areas got inundated in district 3 that were secured.
Mehrdad Vaziri Rouhani explained that we were trying to solve the problems of the critical areas in the district’s old neighborhoods, adding newly flooded areas are recently established places that are quickly identified and resolved.
He also referred to Martyr Awsati Square as one of the places which was severely inundated, saying to eliminate the flooding, we had to build a cross channel at the site of surface water accumulation.
He went on to say that the rainy season is coming and we are required to take necessary measures to identify and eliminate flooding points in the area.
District 3 is one of the old areas that has dilapidated texture and loose soil, but the urban management has made many efforts in recent years to organize inundated places in this area, the municipal official emphasized.
