The head of Qom Municipality Development and Civil Engineering Organization has announced that a medicinal plants research garden with 50 species will be soon inaugurated in Alavi Park.

Touching upon the launch of the medicinal plants’ research garden in Qom, Payam Javadian said since 2010, a research project has been begun on medicinal plants and their compatibility with the green space of the city.

The research project continued in two three-year periods, and a number of medicinal plants of the province and other similar provinces were collected and studied, and several species, including yellow evening-primroses, artichoke, wild mint, etc., entered Qom’s green space, Javadian noted.

He emphasized that we intend to maintain this research center and develop it as a garden of medicinal plants in Alavi Park, adding when the center completes, the citizens can visit this plant collection.

He went on to say that a variety of compatible medicinal plants have been used in this collection so that the citizens can also plant in their home green space.

The head of Qom Municipality Development and Civil Engineering Organization further stated that plants like yellow evening-primroses, rosemary, lavender, mint, thyme, etc., are cultivated in this collection, stressing that we are trying to plant more than 50 species in this collection and expose them to the public.
