Qom Municipality increases electronic services to reduce in-person visits

Deputy of urban planning and architecture of Qom municipality has stated that the municipality is trying to enhance electronic services to reduce in-person visits amid Pandemic.

Alireza Janghorban made the remrks in an interview with Shahr News.

He said that it has been decided to outsource all urban planning and architecture services of the Qom municipality by the end of 2022 over a three-year horizon.

The Deputy Minister of Planning and ICT organization has been providing new and electronic services to citizens for the past two years, Janghorban noted.

Saying that in the modern era, we can no longer look at cities like a decade ago, he emphasized the need to shift from hardware-oriented customer services to software ones.

He went on to say that services cannot be provided with the development of manpower or the place and body, stressing that in modern urban planning, we must definitely address the issues of software and smart city and reduce the processes that make people come to offices in person.

Referring to the coronavirus pandemic, Janghorban mentioned it has led all agencies, including municipalities, to develop software infrastructure and in-person services as a cornerstone of public service.

The municipal official had previously announced that 40% of Qomi citizens registered their applications electronically.
