Municipality’s Fire Dep. extinguishes huge fire in LPG cylinder warehouse

Qom fire department spokesman has announced that fire fighters managed to extinguish a large fire at a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder warehouse in Imam Reza Boulevard in the city of Qom.

Referring to the massive explosion of LPG cylinder warehouse, Hamid Karimi said as the cylinders were thrown over long distances, firefighters are stopping the fire and securing the area.

Karimi appreciated the efforts of fire fighters, adding they have been present at the scene since the incident and are carrying out a firefighting operation.

A Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder warehouse in Imam Reza Boulevard caught fire on Tuesday, triggering a huge explosion in the area.

Earlier, a huge blaze was reported in May 5 in Movaledan chemical factory at Shokuhieh Industrial Town near the city of Qom.

According to Qom fire department spokesman Hamid Karimi, 20 fire engines and more than 100 firefighters were dispatched to the site to extinguish the huge fire.

Fire Stations and Safety Services Organization affiliated to Qom Municipality managed to stop the fire from reaching alcohol tanks, although two firefighters were seriously injured and two fire engines were destroyed.
