Pointing out that Qom has a history of seven thousand years, the mayor of Qom said: We must learn about the heritage of this city and use this opportunity in the best way.
Dr. Syed Morteza Saqaiannejad said at the beginning of the academic year of Qom University and the beginning of Qom Day programs, saying that in the 18th and 19th centuries after the Renaissance, Europe and the West were placed in a high scientific and technological position. Religion does not have the necessary efficiency.
She continued: At that time, four theories were proposed, including “the end of the era of religion”, “Darwin’s theory of the evolution of species”, “the school of Marx” and “Nietzsche”.
Pointing out that the events of the 20th century destroyed all these hypotheses, the mayor of Qom stated: Quantum physics and its hypotheses changed the dominant paradigm, and the world wars in two scientific countries determined that science is not efficient if it is not alongside ethics.
Seqaiannejad added: Also, because he considered man and mankind to be free, he did whatever he wanted in the environment and nature, and this destruction of the environment revealed other aspects of modernism.
Stating that these people said that religion is separate from politics, he clarified: The Islamic revolution took place in the 20th century and violated this hypothesis. This historical course has been taken and some of the issues that are raised today should also be violated by examining history.
Saying that science and faith should be together, Saqaiannejad said: the existence of the royal court of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) and the holy mosque of Jamkaran in Qom city can solve many spiritual problems of people.
