The head of the Urban Services Commission of the Qom Islamic City Council said that holding coordination meetings between metropolises in landscape and urban green space is a valuable opportunity for joint actions and development of green space and improvement of environmental conditions.
Seyyed Mojtaba Sobhani Sabet made the remarks on the sidelines of a specialized meeting on using the lessons learned from the Bam earthquake held in Qom Municipality.
He stated that one of the urban priorities in Qom is the development of green space.
One of the problems that existed in Qom in the past was the destruction of gardens, the expansion of urban development and the lack of balanced development of green space, noted.
And this has caused problems in Qom both in terms of climate and recreation, he added.
f course, during the past years, all-out efforts have been made in the field of green space development in the city of Qom, and the per capita green space of this city has increased from about 13 square meters to more than 20 square meters, he underlined.
