Qom mayor congratulates on Yalda Night

Issuing a message, the mayor of Qom congratulated the citizens of Qom and the family of Qom Municipality on the arrival of Yalda Night.

Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad issued a message and congratulated people on the occasion of Ylada Night.

Yalda ritual is a relic of the old days of dear Iran, a ritual whose purpose is to create a context and an excuse for communication, an effective communication between members of society, from family to friendly groups, something that Islam has a special order for, he wrote.

Yalda, an ancient Persian tradition, is the last night of autumn and the longest of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. It falls on December 21 this year.

Iranians and other people in historically Persian-influenced regions, including Azerbaijan Republic, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, traditionally turn the “longest and darkest night” of the year into a jubilant occasion.
