Qom one of leading cities in increasing city resilience

The head of the Passive Defense and Crisis Management Group of Qom Municipality describes Qom as one of the leading cities in increasing city resilience.

Mehdi Barzoui made the remarks on the sidelines of the dangerous substances around table maneuver which was held at the passive defense center of the municipality of Qom.

Referring to the importance of increasing the resilience of cities, he stated that since 2005, the world has seriously examined and paid attention to issues related to risk reduction based on two global programs and the emphasis of the United Nations.

He considered the approach of the world in the past decades to be based on resilience and risk reduction and added, “The concept of urban resilience simply means a set of preventive measures that are taken so that in the event of an incident, the return to normal conditions occurs in the shortest possible time.”

Emphasizing the importance and position of the city of Qom in the country and the world, he said that considering the position and importance of the city of Qom, the approach of the passive defense and crisis management center of the municipality of Qom is to identify and evaluate the city’s risk potential and comprehensive plans are being followed in this regard.
