The mayor of Qom announced that the age of the bus fleet in the city was 11 years before the start of the renovation project, saying with the arrival of 99 new buses, the age of the Qom Municipality bus fleet will reach 2 years by the end of the year.
Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saqaiannejad made the remarks on the sidelines of the first stage of the arrival of 99 new buses in the public transport fleet of Qom city.
Referring to the 14th of December, the National Day of Transportation, he said that the issues related to transportation, especially public transportation, are important topics of urban management today.
He considered the services in public transportation to be related to the citizens and the people and added, “Unfortunately, today the culture in the cities, especially in the big cities, is to use private cars, and the increasing entry of passenger cars into the cities has created many problems in urban management.”
Building highways and non-level intersections is not our basic solution as city managers, and the main solution is to strengthen public transportation, he underlined.
