The General Technical Director of Design of Qom Municipality announced the implementation of urban structures and parks based on the adaptation of accessibility for people with disability.
Leili Nik Kholgh Ahmadi made the announcement referring to the design of urban spaces in the city of Qom based on the regulations of urban planning and architecture for people with disability.
his regulation has been compiled in the Road, Housing and Urban Development Research Center and communicated to municipalities and executive bodies, she said.
According to this regulation, all urban and rural development plans, town construction, public and residential buildings throughout the country, which are implemented by government and public institutions, must put compliance criteria for people with disabilities on their agenda, she added.
Adaptation activities in Qom Municipality’s civil engineering department and the design of urban spaces and construction projects in this department are based on these criteria and are not a matter of taste, she concluded.
