Statue of General Soleimani installed in Qom

The statue of Martyr General Soleimani and Martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis was installed at the entrance of Qom city.

Payam Javadian, head of the Beautification Organization of Qom Municipality, announced the installation of a statue of Lieutenant General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis at the entrance of Qom city from Tehran.

He said, “This statue was built with the participation of artists from this area and with a height of 3.20 meters.”

Pointing out that the material of this statue is made of glass concrete, he added, “This statue was installed at the entrance of Qom city from the Tehran side and in line with the participation of Qom Municipality in creating the atmosphere of the city for the National Congress of Martyrs of Qom province and honoring their memory and names.”

General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), were assassinated along with their companions in a US terror drone strike authorized by Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
