The head of the Civil and Transportation Commission of the Qom Islamic City Council says we need 300 more buses in order to have an up-to-date and fast bus fleet in the city.
Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Dehnad made the remarks emphasizing the importance of public transportation in organizing city traffic.
Today, the whole world has come to the conclusion that in order to solve transportation problems, the platform and possibility of public transportation should be expanded, he stated.
He further considered the quantitative and qualitative development of public transportation as one of the essential concerns of the urban management groups.
In the big developed cities of the world, the share of public transport in intra-city trips is close to 50%, and this means that 5 out of 10 people use public transport., he noted.
