The CEO of the Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality announced the identification of 25 species compatible with Qom’s climate in a recent study plan to investigate the compatibility of more than 70 plant species with the city’s climate.
Payam Javadian made the announcement while emphasizing the increase in the diversity of plant species in the green space of Qom city.
According to the results of the study plan to examine the compatibility of plant species, the planting of new species whose compatibility has been proven in this plan will be done in the green space of Qom city and we will witness an increase in the diversity of plant species in Qom city, he stated.
He then said that the Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality has so far conducted two study projects in cooperation with the Agricultural Research Center of the province.
These two projects were carried out during two three-year periods from 2011 to 2014 and 2017 to 2021. In the first period, more than 48 plant species and in the second plan, the results of which have been determined recently, more than 70 plant species were examined for their compatibility with Qom’s climatic conditions, he concluded.
