The Deputy of Environment and Urban Services of Qom Municipality has said the main priority of the urban management sector in the field of green space is the preservation of gardens; Of course, gardens should be maintained in such a way that the benefit of the owners is also taken into account.
Mehdi Isfahanian Moghadam made the remarks referring to the destruction and repurposing of city gardens with the development of urbanization.
Some people have converted agricultural land and city gardens into buildings in the past years, and they are still looking to destroy and repurpose the city’s few valuable gardens, while the city management is seriously seeking to preserve these valuable environmental capitals, he asserted.
Therefore, the main priority of the urban management sector in the field of green space is to preserve gardens; Of course, gardens should be maintained in such a way that the owners’ benefit is also taken into accountو he said while adding that the municipality and the Article 5 Commission should also be flexible about possession of gardens, and provincial and national capacities should be used to posses gardens.
Besides, he called for the formation of a working group with the presence of relevant institutions such as the judiciary, municipality, governorate, agricultural jihad, etc. to preserve the city’s gardens.
