The mayor of Qom says one of the important policies and approaches of Qom municipality is to revive the gardens around the city and to make optimal and general use of the capacity of these valuable areas.
Dr. Syyed Morteza Saqaiannejad made the comments at the meeting of the Council of Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality on Saturday.
Expressing satisfaction with the state of development of urban green spaces, he stated, “The current situation of Qom in terms of urban and forest green spaces per capita and the beauty of the landscape is not comparable to some years ago.”
Emphasizing the necessity of supplying the required water and the quantitative and qualitative development of urban green areas, he added that Qom Regional Water Company has provided only 5 wells to the municipality out of the 13 agreed wells.
With the measures taken in the past years, the amount of drinking water consumption in the urban green space has been greatly reduced, and if the regional water of the province provides the remaining 8 wells of the municipality to the urban management sector, the amount of drinking water use in the green areas will reach zero, he noted.
