According to the news unit of Qom Municipality Transportation and Traffic Organization, Hossein Shabanzadeh congratulated the approaching blessed decade of Benevolence and also expressed condolence on the anniversary of the departure of the great architect of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA).

He stated that currently in the central core of the city, more than 6,000 car parks in public parking lots are available to citizens and pilgrims.

He pointed out that on calendar occasions and religious programs, we face the lack of parking spaces, adding, “Despite these conditions and with the existing capacity, we will make every effort to provide proper services to pilgrims.”

Shabanzadeh considered the creation of parking in areas far from the city center and at the entrances of the city as one of the best solutions and plans presented in this regard.

Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Rouhollah Mousavi Khomeini, better known as Imam Khomeini, passed away on June 4, 1989, at the age of 87. Iranians and devotees of Imam Khomeini, the revered founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, every year commemorate the anniversary of his departure.

Also, The mourning ceremonies for Imam Khomeini coincide with the anniversary of June 5, 1963 protests, which are remembered as a prelude to the revolution’s victory. The protests broke out after Imam Khomeini was arrested for delivering a historic speech in the holy city of Qom, where he lambasted the “capitulation law” granting immunity to Americans on Iranian soil.
