The director of the Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality announced the planting of more than one million fruit trees in the green space in the last 6 years.
According to the news unit of the Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality, Payam Javadian stated that one of the approaches to sustainable green space development is the use of native and environmentally friendly species.
The priority of the Parks Organization in recent years has been the use of fruit trees and medicines compatible with the climate of Qom, the municipality official said.
He reiterated that in the last 6 years, more than one million fruit trees have been planted in the green space of Qom.
He went on to note that climate-friendly species of Qom were planted in forest and urban green spaces including olives, pomegranate, jujube and etc.
The director of the Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality pointed out that the severe limitation of climatic conditions has forced us to use limited species in the city.
Therefore, the main priority of this organization is to use such species in the development of green space, he added.
