Qom’s central area enjoys over 28 hectares of historical monuments

The director of District 7 of Qom Municipality explained the characteristics of this area which is located at the center of the city, saying this region posses more than 28 hectares of historical monuments

Mohammad Ramezani made the remarks referring to the situation of district 7 at the center of the city of Qom.

This area is the central core of the city and covers an area of 420 hectares and the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) is located in this urban area as the first pilgrimage center of the province, he stated.

Stressing that 350 hectares of the area are urban decay, he said, “24 hectares of the area is related to the route of the river and Shahid Soleimani Boulevard and more than 28 and a half hectares are the territory of historical monuments.”

The director of District 7 of Qom Municipality emphasized that 20 hectares of the holy shrine area is located in this area, and reiterated that 60 hectares of the area is also related to the shrine area.

He also considered the area of ​​the historical texture, a considerable part of which was placed in the urban decay, as 125 hectares, and pointed out that with these conditions, there is practically no new texture in this area.
