The head of the Waste Management Organization of Qom Municipality elaborated on the special programs of this organization on the occasion of World Earth Day.
Commemorating the arrival of the Earth Week, Seyyed Abdullah Mirebrahimi said, “The programs of the organization will be held on the occasion of this week with delay in honor of the martyrdom of Mola Al-Muwahhidin Ali (AS) and the nights of Qadr.”
“Earth Day (April 22) is celebrated worldwide to raise public awareness about major environmental concerns,” he noted.
He then stressed the importance of environmental protection, especially the significance of land conservation, water, soil, air and natural cycles, and ultimately the effort to protect the environment for the present generation and maintain natural resources for future generations.
: “One of the most important issues related to land is the proper management of waste because today waste is one of the most important factors threatening the life of the earth and soil pollution,” he reiterated.
He concluded that holding appreciation ceremonies for recycling partners, performing environmental advertisements, unveiling the second series of animations of citizenship culture, and distributing bread loaves in fabric bags in recycling booths are among the measures of the organization these days.
