‘Over 80% of Qom public transport fleet got vaccinated’

Director General of Qom Crisis Management declared that more than 80 percent of the drivers of Qom’s public transport fleet have been vaccinated. 

Mohsen Orouji made the remarks attending the meeting of Coronavirus Information and Management Council which was held on Monday

Orouji appreciated the Qom Municipality’s efforts for the vaccination of public fleet staff, stating that a significant number of people working in Qom public transport have received vaccines.

Elaborating on the measures taken to manage the Coronavirus in the country, he referred to the smart management platform in Omid system as the most important corona management project.

If the data of Omid system is provided to the provinces, the exact number and information of the employees who have not been vaccinated will be determined, he explained.

Qom Municipality Deputy of Transportation and Traffic announced on July 22 that the vaccination of public transport drivers began in the city of Qom.

Abbas Zakerian had formerly said that the municipality of Qom prioritized getting public transport drivers vaccinated since they are at high risk.

According to Iran’s Health Ministry, some 34 more Iranians have died from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 131,434.
