70% of Qom’s smart city software infrastructures prepared: Official

The head of the smart city headquarters of Qom Municipality says approximately 70% of the smart city software infrastructures is currently ready.

Referring to the establishment of the smart city headquarters in Qom Municipality, Homayoun Yazdanpanah stated that the headquarters was formed in 2015, but in recent years, especially since 2016, many efforts have been made to achieve the realization of the smart city.

Yazdanpanah also touched upon the headquarters’ goals, saying one of the most important problems is not having an activity chart because IT organizations cannot carry out all missions in this field.

He went on to say that the realization of projects in the smart city headquarters requires the inter-organizational collaboration since information technology organizations are subordinate to the municipality and do not have the necessary power and authority to make a city smart.

At present, about 70% of the smart city software infrastructure is ready, so all the systems of the city’s executive devices can be connected to each other, the municipal official added.

The head of the smart city headquarters of Qom Municipality had earlier said that during the last few years, we laid the foundation for the realization of the smart city and reached a very good position in the country in terms of software and data center infrastructure.
