Mayor: 52 new buses to enter Qom public transport fleet

The mayor of Qom has announced that 52 new buses will be purchased and added to the public transport fleet of Qom with a credit of 2,150 billion rials.

Touching upon the planning that Qom municipality has made to renovate the city’s public transport fleet, Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad said providing proper services and developing public transportation have always been among the municipality’s priorities.

In a report presented on the efforts made to renovate the city’s bus fleet, Saghaiannejad noted that despite the problems we face in providing new buses in the country, the second stage of purchasing buses was recently done by Qom Municipality.

He went on to say that in the first phase, 110 buses with Euro 4 standard entered Qom transport fleet last year.

Elaborating on the process of financing and concluding contracts to buy the buses, he said that last year, we were able to finance a major part of the purchasing project by obtaining a license to sell participation bonds.

This year, we will complete the final steps and deliver the buses by selling participation bonds, the mayor added.

Finally, the mayor expressed hope that the buses will enter Qom public transportation in the near future by speeding up the administrative process and concluding contracts.
