Qom mayor offers condolences on Kabul school terrorist attack

In a letter to Kabul Mayor Mohammad Dawood Sultanzoy, the mayor of Qom expressed his deep condolences over the death of school girls in a terrorist attack on Afghan school.

Referring to the deadly car bomb in western Kabul, Dr. Seyed Morteza Saghaiannejad asserted that this terrorist attack did not only target the innocent girls at Sayed ul Shuhada high school, but also targeted an educational environment since terrorism supports ignorance and is opposed to the spread of science, culture and knowledge.

All Islamic religions oppose terrorism in its various forms and committing such horrible acts in the name of Islam not only incites Islamophobia, but also presents a harsh image of the religion of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to the world, he noted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Qom mayor voiced hope that with the unity and solidarity among the region’s people, we will soon witness the eradication of terrorism and the establishment of peace and stability in the West Asian region and around the world.

Saghaiannejad also offered condolences to the survivors and families of those killed in the attack, stating, “The people of Qom shared the grief of this unfortunate incident with the people of Kabul.

“I also extend my heartfelt condolences to the families and survivors of victims of the Kabul school terrorist attack and convey the message of sympathy and support of the girls and women of Qom to these loved ones,” he added.

Dozens of civilians most of them schoolgirls killed and over 100 others were wounded in Kabul after a deadly car bomb followed by twin bomb explosions went off in front of a school. A similar assault also claimed the lives of 30 school students in eastern Logar province just a few days ago.

Kabul has witnessed several deadly terrorist attacks on civilian targets mainly on educational centers over the recent years.
