The governor of Qom called for speeding up the implementation of the Qom Metro project saying the first phase of this project will be inaugurated in June 2021.
Bahram Sarmast made the remarks in a meeting to review the latest situation of Qom metro.
Appreciating the efforts made to perform this project, he stated that This project is supported by all departments of the province and is one of the most important urban projects.
Stressing that according to the promises, the first phase of line one should be operational by the end of June, Sarmast noted, “The progress of the project is good, but at this speed, we can not bring the opening of phase one of the metro to June, and staffers should work in three shifts.”
A monorail line with a length of 7 km and 8 stations and a metro line with a length of 14 km and 14 stations are currently under construction. An extension of the Monorail, plus two other brand new metro lines, are being considered as part of future plans.
