Director General of Communications and International Affairs of Qom Municipality says as in the previous years, the municipality’s activities for the Muharram ritual are being carried out, preparing the city for mourning ceremonies.
Mehdi Kalanterzadeh made the remarks referring to the measures taken by the Qom urban management group for Muharram’s arrival.
Concurrent with the arrival of mourning month for Imam Hossein (AS) – the third Shia Imam -, the activities of Qom municipality in the field of space creation, black covering and environmental advertising will begin.
Meanwhile, he considered urban preparation as a key step in driving religious rituals.
Kalanterzadeh also noted that on the occasion of the beginning of the month of Muharram, 11 new sculptures of martyrs would be unveiled with the efforts of the Qom Municipality Beautification Organization and the cooperation of the Council of Religious Groups and the Islamic Propagation Organization of the province.
