The head of the Taekwondo Federation says the sports committee of Qom Taekwondo should identify a proper park as soon as possible and hold outdoor Taekwondo training classes, referring to the proposal of the mayor to use the space of parks for the development of the sports.
Hadi Saai made the comments in a Sunday meeting with Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saqaiannejad, Mayor of Qom.
The veteran athlete stated that as much as it is invested in sports, the cost of treatment and social damages will be reduced.
The head of the Taekwondo Federation went on to note that the capacity of municipalities in the development of sports is greater than that of the general administrations of sports and youth, and it is appropriate to make the most of the facilities and capacity of the urban management sector for the development of championship sports.
Qom is one of the proudest provinces in taekwondo and currently, about 6 thousand people are working professionally in this sport, Saai asserted.
Appreciating the cooperation and support of Qom Municipality in the development of public sports, he added that the Taekwondo Federation’s request from the Qom City Management sector is to lay the groundwork for the development of Taekwondo sports in the talented neighborhoods of Qom.
