In a message released on Thursday, the mayor of Qom has offered his congratulations on the occasion of National Transportation Day.
Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad congratulated the arrival of December 17 – the National Day of Transportation, to all those working in this industry across the country, as well as Deputy Minister of Transportation and Traffic organization of Qom municipality.
Saghaiannejad referred to the significant role transportation plays in the urban life of the citizens, saying this is the main reason why more than two-thirds of municipal budgets and major construction activities are spent on traffic-related issues and urban traffic.
He stressed paying attention to various issues of the transportation industry in order to improve the citizens’ welfare and security.
There should also be paid great attention to environmental issues and prevention of air pollution, he added.
Furthermore, the mayor emphasized the need to improve the citizens’ traffic behavior and performance, saying that presenting various programs in the fields of culture, information and public awareness will have a great impact in this regard.
He went on to say that in order to strengthen the structure and function of the public transportation sector, we need to create an opportunity for optimal, easy, and effective use of the transportation industry,
