Municipality of Qom to launch market, tourism & medicine taxis, says official

The acting head of transportation and traffic deputy of Qom Municipality has declared the launch of market, tourism, and medicine taxis in the city.

Masoud Tabibi made the remarks in a press conference held on the occasion of National Transportation Day in Rezvan meeting hall of Qom Municipality.

Implementing the plan of the market, tourism, and medicine taxis in Qom is aimed at increasing the revenue and modernizing the city’s taxi fleet, Tabibi said on Tuesday.

He went on to say that the Qom Municipality is taking initial measures to set up the market, tourism, and medicine taxis by the beginning of the New Year.

We are now identifying the experienced drivers who have the least driving violations so that we can use them for providing safe and reliable services in medicine taxis, he explained.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he considered specialized human sources, working in the field of transportation and traffic, as great opportunities to organize the city’s traffic.

December 17 has been designated as the National Day of Transportation in Iran. In 1997, the Ministry of Roads and Transportation suggested naming the day in order to inform the public about the role and position of the transportation sector.
