The spokesman of the Qom Municipality Fire and Safety Services Department has announced on Monday that firefighters contained a large fire of a household LPG gas cylinder explosion.
Hamid Karimi said in an interview that the incident took place in Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) Boulevard, leaving 5 injured.
Elaborating on the incident’s details, Karimi stated that 5 residents of a residential house were trapped in the site of the explosion and suffered burns.
Fortunately, firefighters arrived at the scene on time and managed to rescue the injured and deliver them to the emergency room, he added.
The explosion occurred due to a gas leak from the LPG tank, he explained, adding that the environment was secured when the firefighters were present at the scene.
The spokesman of Qom Municipality Fire and Safety Services Department had earlier said that major progress has been made in handling fire accidents and other such incidents during the past 10 years, and expressed hope for further advances
The municipal official also referred to the decrease in the annual fire death toll in the city of Qom, he described it as a great achievement which is resulted from the round-the-clock efforts of the Fire Department’s firefighters.
