Roman & composite facades not allowed to be implemented in Qom: Official

A municipal official has announced that Roman and composite facades are banned to be implemented in the city of Qom.

This issue is being pursued more seriously on the sidewalks around the holy shrine of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS), said the manager of district 7 of Qom Municipality in an interview on Sunday.

Majid Matinfar referred to the construction of sidewalks around the holy shrine, adding when the sidewalks are implemented, the urban landscape in the central core of the city will be improved.

He also declared that a Landscape Committee was formed in the district 7 of Qom Municipality, saying reconstruction and improvement of the buildings’ facades along the sidewalks should be approved by the committee.

The facades should be constructed in accordance with the historical context, identity and culture of the city, he added.

The manager of district 7 of Qom Municipality stressed that the citizens are not allowed to perform Roman and composite facades in this region.

Abdollah Jalali, the chairman of the Islamic city Council of Qom had earlier acknowledged the municipality’s attempts to preserve and protect the historical identity and background of the city.
