Qom Municipality after promoting culture of reading books

The Director General of Communications and International Affairs of Qom Municipality has emphasized the municipality’s participation in promoting the culture of reading books among the citizens.

In its efforts to promote the culture of reading books, the municipality of Qom started the urban advertising of the book “Cry Alone”, Mehdi Kalantarzadeh announced on Sunday.

The book was unveiled in a ceremony commemorating Jihad and Resistance Literature on the occasion of book and reading week.

The commemoration ceremony was attended by Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili, Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Yaser Ahmadvand, Iran’s Deputy Culture Minister for Cultural Affairs, Hojjatoleslam Shokri, representative of the Supreme Leader in the Martyr Foundation, and Akram Eslami, the book’s author.

Speaking on the sidelines of the cultural event, Kalantarzadeh said that the municipality allocated part of its information capacity to the introduction of the book  “Cry Alone” and the national movement of reading books.

The book narrates the life of Ashraf Sadat Montazeri, the mother of martyr Mohammad Memarian during the Islamic Revolution, Iran-Iraq imposed war, and the years after that era, Kalantarzadeh explained.

The Iran Book Week begins every year on the 24th of Aban, which has been designated as the Book and Reading Day on the Iranian calendar.
