50th dry waste recycling booth set up in Qom, official says

The head of the Waste Management Organization of Qom Municipality has declared that the 50th dry waste recycling booth was established in the city.

Touching upon the inauguration of recycling booths in different parts of the city, Seyyed Abdullah Mirebrahimi said they are set up in order to receive dry waste from citizens.

The municipality of Qom has seriously prioritized establishing recycling booths as they are communication channels between the organization and the citizens, Mirebrahimi reiterated.

Saying the citizens can deliver dry waste such as bottles, paper, plastic, etc. to these booths, he added that some gifts will be given to the citizens in exchange for the delivery of dry waste, and this in itself is an incentive for people to pay more attention to the dry waste segregation.

The development of recycling booths is one of the most important policies in waste segregation and increasing public participation, he stated.

The municipal official went on to say that in 2015, there were just 14 active booths, and this year we have 50 booths that are ready to provide services to citizens.

The head of the Waste Management Organization of Qom Municipality had previously elaborated on the municipality’s measures to inform and educate citizens in the field of waste recycling, saying various cultural projects have been implemented in the recycling booths.
