Registering ‘Qom Day’ in national calendar introduces city’s capacities: Official

Technical and Civil Deputy of Qom Municipality says registration of the “Day of Qom” in Iran’s national calendar will better introduce the city’s capacities.

Abbas Halvaei Zadeh touched upon the importance of commemorating “Qom Day” and the opportunity to introduce the city’s capacities, saying Qom is a great place to serve Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) and the citizens.

Due to the special international and national status of Qom, significant projects, appropriate to the position, should be implemented to make the city increasingly develop, Halvaei Zadeh noted.

He went on to say that in order for Qom to reach its real position, regional and urban parks, tourist and recreational areas, non-level intersections, etc. should be constructed.

The municipal official finally referred to the inauguration of Salam intersection and Qom entrance through Jafarieh as the two projects that were completely connected to the “Day of Qom”.

In 2019, the Provincial Public Culture Council named the anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom, coinciding with the 23rd of Rabi al-Awal, as the “Day of Qom”.

Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS), known as Karimeh Ahl-ul-Bayt, is the daughter of Imam Musa Kazim (AS), the 7th Shia Imam, and the sister of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Holy Imam. Every year, millions of Shia Muslims travel to Qom to honor Fatemeh Masomeh at her shrine.
