Qom Municipality’s architecture deputy passes away due to COVID-19

Deputy of urban planning and architecture of Qom municipality Gholamreza Janghorban has passed away after a battle with the Coronavirus on August 20.

Janghorban has served as the Deputy of urban planning and architecture of Qom municipality since 2014. He has also had positions including Deputy of municipal services, senior advisor to the mayor of Qom, and director of various districts.

After having served for 35 years, he died shortly before retirement following experiencing complications from COVID-19 on Friday.

This marks a string of COVID-related deaths in the Qom municipality since the outbreak of the Coronavirus in late 2019.

Following the demise of Gholamreza Janghorban, the mayor of Qom Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad expressed his condolences to his family and Qom Municipality staff, as well.

In his condolence message, the mayor referred to the valuable services of the late Deputy of urban planning and architecture of Qom municipality over the last 35 years.

Simultaneously with the mourning for the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS), a commemoration ceremony was held on to mark the demise of Gholamreza Janghorban and other deceased colleagues of Qom Municipality under the full adherence to health instructions.

It was reported that over the past 18 months, 18 staff of Qom Municipality have passed away mostly due to the COVID-19 infection.
