Qom historical context renewal requires multilateral interaction: Official

The CEO of Urban Renewal Organization of Qom Municipality has called for the interaction of the cultural heritage and roads and urban planning organizations to implement the city’s renewal plan.

Saying that urban renewal is a multifaceted issue, Alireza Khaki asked the responsible organizations, including cultural heritage and roads and urban planning, to interact in order for the plan to be implemented comprehensively.

Khaki referred to the implementation of cultural and historical context improvement projects, noting that the flooring plans of the old bazaar, the new bazaar, Shah Hamzeh (AS), and Eshqali axes were put into operation with a credit of 50 billion rials.

Touching upon the significant role construction projects play in improving the standard of living and urban quality, he added that recreating construction projects in urban contexts both affects the city’s development and resolves cultural problems as well as social harms.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he stated that flooring and recreating the old and new bazaar will boost the economy, attract tourists, and revive various fields of handicrafts.

Although improving projects may be less costly than other development projects, they have a great cultural and social impact, the CEO of Urban Renewal Organization of Qom Municipality noted.

On the fifth week of the ‘Qom on the path of development’ plan, some cultural and historical centers improvement projects were inaugurated in the presence of provincial officials and city managers.
