Mayor: Rehabilitation of rundown areas in Qom requires high credit

The mayor of Qom Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad says since the rehabilitation of Qom’s rundown areas requires high credibility, all responsible institutions should pay particular attention to the issue.

On the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of improving Qom cultural and historical centers on the fifth week of the ‘Qom on the path of development’ plan, Dr. Saghaiannejad stressed the importance of reviving and recreating the historical context.

Saying that the projects that are being inaugurated today are located in the city’s historical context, he expressed hope that by acting on the memorandum signed between the municipality, cultural heritage and roads and urban planning, and the citizens’ engagement, we will be able to bring these projects to a desirable result.

Implementing renovation projects plays a significant role in attracting tourists and booming tourism industry which will enable us to restore historical texture, he noted.

The mayor went on to say that there are currently about 1700 hectares of urban rundown areas in the city of Qom, the rehabilitation of which requires high credit, so in addition to the necessary facilities and measures, it requires proper management and the use of private sector power and investment.

On the fifth week of the ‘Qom on the path of development’ plan, some cultural and historical centers improvement projects were inaugurated in the presence of provincial officials and city managers.
