Qom municipality’s factory self-sufficient in asphalt production

The head of Qom Municipality Development and Civil Engineering Organization says Amir Kabir factory has achieved self-sufficiency in the production of asphalt.

Seyed Abolfazl Miryek Emami made the remarks in an interview with Shahr News.

With the launch of two factories with capacities of 220 tons and 160 tons in Amir Kabir asphalt complex, Qom attained self-sufficiency in producing asphalt needed in the city, the municipal official stated.

Referring to the municipality’s plan for the distribution of asphalt in the past few years, he noted that the process is continued in 2021.

Miryek Emami evaluated the organization’s performance in 2020, saying last year, the projected amount of asphalt was 200,000 tons but more than 230,000 tons of asphalt were distributed in the streets and passages of Qom by the end of the year.

He also emphasized the municipality’s efforts in rehabilitation of roads and asphalting the streets, adding it is expected that over 200,000 tons will be distributed this year.

He praised the construction of two factories in Amir Kabir asphalt complex which led to the self-sufficiency of the city of Qom in the production of asphalt.
