Interior minister appreciates Qom Municipality’s efforts

Iran’s Interior Minister Abdul Reza Rahmani Fazli praises the performance of Qom Municipality in the implementation of urban projects.

He made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of 99 urban projects which was held at the International Conference Hall of the municipality.

Emphasizing the necessity of elimination of the shortcomings of Qom province, the minister said that the deficiencies of this city should be eradicated and on the other hand, the affairs of the holy city should be considered given its position.

Rahmani Fazli announced the allocation of funds for the modernization of the public transport fleet while adding that 5,000 buses and 2,000 wagons will be provided via oil barter deals, in which the needs of Qom province will also be noticed.

He further thanked the mayor of Qom, the governor, representatives, and members of the Islamic City Council of Qom.

“We owed a lot to Qom and in some way we have benefited from the kindness of the people, scholars, ulemas, and authorities, and especially from the holy shrine of Imam Masoumeh (as), and in proportion to this religious benefit, we must pay our respects,” he added.

The Thursday’s opening ceremony of the 99 urban projects in Qom was held on the occasion of Eid al-Mab’ath, the anniversary of the day Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was chosen as God’s messenger.
