The Director of Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality said that simultaneously with the tree planting week and special natural resources, commemoration programs will be held in Qom city from Saturday noon to March 13th, and the flower and happiness carnival will take place on Sunday.
Payam Javadian made the remarks this afternoon at a press conference which was held on the occasion of Arbor Week.
He also emphasized the appropriate measures and support of the mayor of Qom regarding the allocation of the necessary budget for the development of the province’s green space.
Javadian went on to say that more than 2,000 workers are serving in the city that we should appreciate them.
On the Iranian National Tree Planting Day (Arbor Day), individuals and groups are encouraged to plant and care for trees
Every year, just before the Iranian New Year, millions of Iranians plant trees to mark the tree-planting week and hail the advent of spring.
National Tree Planting Day, is annually celebrated on the fifteenth day of Esfand, the last month on the Iranian calendar, which usually corresponds with March 5. The day marks the beginning of National Week of Natural Resources (March 5-12).
