The mayor of Qom has congratulated world Christians on the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and the advent of the new Christian year in a message.
I extend my congratulations to all his followers on the birthday of Jesus, son of Holy Mary, and the beginning of the New Year, Morteza Saghaeiannejad wrote.
He stated that “It is worth mentioning that we Shias are proud of expressing our salute and respect to Jesus at the first part of our written prayers to a lady from the children of the Holy Prophet of Islam named Fatemeh Masoumeh (PBUH).”
Undoubtedly, the values, beliefs, and teachings of every religion are in the direction of educating human beings and helping them to achieve excellence and development, and any kind of disrespect and insult to religion and the sacred realm of religious leaders is rude to wisdom, insight, and conscience. Extremism is doomed to failure, and kindness and empathy is the international language,” he added.
I congratulate all Christians inside and outside the country on the anniversary of this blessed Christmas, and I hope that in the shadow of peace and friendship, we will achieve a world free of war, struggle, and extremism, the mayor said.
