Reconstruction of Qom urban decay requires incentives

The chairman of the Architecture and Urban Planning Commission of Qom Islamic City Council says reconstruction of Qom’s urban decay needs good incentives.

Ruhollah Amrollahi made the remarks at the meeting of the Article 5 Commission which was held in the meeting hall of the Deputy Coordinator of Civil Affairs of Qom Governorate

He noted that several provisions in the previous detailed plan bring problems with the new plan.

Pointing out that this has increased the number of construction violations, he said that according to the 5-year plan, 10% renovation should be done every year, and in Qom, this amount was less than half a percent and it has decreased every year.

Stating that in Qom we have seen almost no change in urban decay, he said, “Of course, the safety changes will be calculated outside of the general changes.”

Touching upon that this tissue currently has a function other than the proper urban body, he pointed out that good incentives should be considered for the prosperity of this area.
