Passive defense requirements should be considered in Qom urban setting

The CEO of the Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality has stressed paying attention to the requirements of passive defense in the design and creation of Qom’s urban spaces.

Payam Javadian made the comments emphasizing that threats to urban areas are known as a common phenomenon in all of the natural and unnatural crises today.

Therefore, it is necessary to provide programs to reduce the effects of threats on cities, he noted.

He acknowledged that currently in urban development plans for important urban management issues such as land user systems and transportation, necessary planning is done.

He considered the lack of safe spaces in cities and residential environments as the cause of many risks for their residents during a crisis.

For this purpose, in line with the implementation of passive defense measures to consolidate the foundations of defense architecture, with the intelligent design of such spaces in the form of green spaces and parks, vulnerability in critical situations can be avoided to a large extent, he concluded.
