Honoring Qom Day, the mayor of Qom emphasized the importance of the attention and cooperation of all institutions in introducing more capacities of this city.
Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad made the comments on the sidelines of the bell-ringing ceremony of Qom Day, which was held at Shahid Namazikhah school.
With the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH), the Jamkaran Mosque, the largest seminary in the Shia world, the presence of intellectuals and scholars have grown in this city, the youth of Qom should increase their awareness of the long history of their city in order to find their true identity, he stated.
Referring to Qom Municipality’s role in the naming and planning for Qom Day, he clarified that the reason why we have named a day after Qom is that Qom has not yet found its real place.
The mayor of Qom said that the purpose of the naming was to display and honor the values that exist in Qom province.
In 2019, the Provincial Public Culture Council named the anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom, coinciding with the 23rd of Rabi al-Awal, as the ‘Day of Qom’.
