64 buses to be joined Qom public transport fleet, mayor announced

Referring to the promises of the urban management group to improve the quality of public transportation, the mayor of Qom announced the effort to provide 64 new buses.

Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad made the comments touching upon the goals of urban management in line with improving the quality of public transportation.

Considering the tasks of the government in supporting clean transportation in metropolises, we are seeking that the holy city of Qom benefits from government credits in this field through continuous follow-ups, he stated.

In this regard, a letter was sent to the organization of municipalities and village governors, and considering the characteristics of Qom’s pilgrim-friendly city and the reception of millions of domestic and foreign pilgrims, we requested the provision of 100 city buses for public transportation, he said.

The mayor added that join of these 64 buses will increase the speed, quality, and usefulness of public transportation and improve citizens’ satisfaction.

He then pointed out that in order to conclude this contract, Qom Municipality must secure 84 billion tomans of credit within 72 hours.

In total, some part of the purchase costs of these buses will be provided by the government and some part by the city administration, he noted.
