24/7 transport services for pilgrims on agenda

The General Director of Communications and International Affairs of Qom Municipality says increasing the number of cars and updating and providing services round-the-clock to facilitate further the commute of pilgrims is on the agenda.

Mehdi Kalanterzadeh made the comments referring to holding a coordination meeting between the officials of various institutions in Qom to examine plans for easy transportation of pilgrims to the Holy Shrine Karimeh of Ahl al-Bayt.

Negotiations between Qom Municipality and the Holy Shrine authorities are continuing on this matter, especially on the issue of increasing the service of electric cars, he stated.

Considering that the reports show that some electric car routes around the Holy Shrine are collecting fares from people, the mayor of Qom ordered that the non-receipt of fares from these cars should be put on the agenda, he noted.

The Director General of Communications and International Affairs of Qom Municipality also stressed the necessity of quantitative and qualitative expansion of electric car services around the holy shrine.

Increasing the number of these cars and updating them, along with round-the-clock service delivery, is one of the plans to facilitate the visit of pilgrims further, he reiterated.
