Qom mayor declares municipality readiness for development of Taekwondo

The mayor of Qom says Qom municipality is ready to provide some parts of the capacity of city parks to sports teams for the development of martial sports such as Taekwondo.

Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad made the comments in a meeting with Hadi Saai, the head of the Taekwondo Federation.

The 1000-hectare park of Qom has a unique capacity to develop all kinds of sports in a fun and low-cost environment, the mayor stated.

He then pointed out that the development of taekwondo in Qom in city parks requires the follow-up of this sport’s team members.

Cultural and sports complexes in all urban areas have been put into operation in the city of Qom in the past years and are being built, and now several sports teams are using the capacity of these well-equipped halls, he added.

The 400 parks of Qom, some of which enjoy more favorable size and area, have created a real capacity for developing sports fields, the mayor reiterated.

In the end, Dr. Saqaiannejad emphasized that the basis of investing in cultural issues is sports and said Hadi Saei, as one of the country’s sports stars, can play a significant role in developing taekwondo in Qom.
